We hope you enjoy looking through our 2008 Festival programme with its exciting mixture of jazz, Africa rhythms, world-class recitalists and top instrumental groups. Once you have made your choice be sure to book early as seating for most of the concerts is limited. We look forward to welcoming you in June to this our tenth Winchfield Festival, now devoted entirely to music and performed in the beautiful setting of this small Hampshire village.

Alan Melbourne
Artistic Director

Thanks

We are grateful to the Winchfield Parochial Church Council for the use of St. Mary’s Church and to Mrs. Marigold Charrington for kindly making her home Winchfield House available for Sunday 15th June concert. We would also like to thank all our many volunteers and helpers. Thanks also to Doreen Melbourne for allowing us to use her photograph for the front cover of our brochure and to Sarah Garwood and Kate Rosevear for hosting Wednesday’s Barbecue and to Andrew Goddard for the use of his field.

*Unfortunately the British Consulate has refused a Visa at the last moment to Evgeny Izotov who was scheduled to perform on Thursday 19th June. However, we have been enormously lucky to secure the internationally famous Peter Donohoe, winner of the 1982 International Tchaikovsky Competition.
